An effective approach to work stress begins with understanding what is truly going on. Only then can you determine which support is needed and how to maintain improvements in the long term.

Centrum voor Stressmanagement therefore works step by step: from insight to targeted action and lasting improvement. Practical, thorough, and tailored to the organization and the people who work there.

From insight to sustainable improvement

Our approach consists of three distinct phases. Not every organization requires the same approach, nor does everything have to be done at once.

1. Insight and analysis

We begin by mapping out the situation. Where does work pressure originate? Which signals are visible? What factors play a role in stress, overload, or absenteeism?

Depending on the request, we use consultations, interviews, available information, and, where appropriate, a Stress Scan or supplementary assessment.

What this delivers: a clear view of the key priorities and a well-founded direction for the next step.

2. Targeted interventions

Based on the findings, we determine which support can contribute the most. This may include coaching, training, guidance for teams or managers, and support with organizational changes or adjustments.

We do not opt for a standard program, but look at what aligns with the situation, culture, and capabilities of the organization.

What this delivers: actionable initiatives that are feasible and meet the needs of employees and the organization.

3. Evaluating and sustaining

Improvement only provides value when it also holds up when work pressure increases again.

That is why we examine together what works, which agreements are important, and where adjustments remain necessary. In this way, stress management does not become a one-time intervention, but part of a healthy and sustainable way of working.

What this delivers: clear agreements and an approach on which the organization can build further.

Measuring when it helps to make better choices

For us, measurement is not a goal in itself. We use assessments when they help to better understand stress factors, monitor developments, or provide clearer insights into the effect of a program.

Baseline assessment

A baseline assessment can help establish a starting point and highlight where the main areas of focus lie.

Interim evaluation

During a program, we assess whether the chosen approach is achieving the desired effect and where adjustments may be needed.

Evaluation

At the conclusion, we review what has changed, what works well, and what continued attention is required to sustain progress.

Depending on the program, instruments such as the Stress Mastery Questionnaire (SMQ), other Stress Scan tools, or supplementary assessments via Brain Wellness Lab can be utilized.

Which approach suits your organization?

The right first step depends on the specific need. Some organizations wish to gain insight first, while for others it is already clear where support is needed.

Stress Scan

When you first want to better understand which stress factors and risks are at play. The findings provide direction for discussions and potential next steps.

Absenteeism reduction

When work pressure, stress, or sick leave are increasing and there is a need for a targeted approach to investigate root causes and prevent absenteeism as much as possible.

Change support

When changes within the organization cause additional pressure. We support employees, teams, and managers to keep changes manageable and identify overload in a timely manner.

Brain Wellness Lab

For programs where additional insights into behavior, mental load, and development are desired. Assessment points can be used to track changes throughout the process and make adjustments where necessary.

Careful and confidential

Stress, performance, and personal resilience require diligence and care. Therefore, we establish clear agreements beforehand regarding the purpose of a program, which information is collected, and how feedback is provided.

We treat personal information confidentially. In organization-wide programs, the focus is on identifying patterns and priorities, not on evaluating individual employees.

Discretion and clear agreements are also a given in programs for executive boards, management, and team leaders.

An approach you can build upon

Our goal is not to make an organization dependent on a prolonged program. Rather, we aim to provide insight, offer support where needed, and ensure that employees and managers can move forward independently with what works.

For this reason, a program can start small and be scaled up when there is reason to do so.

Would you like to know which first step is right for you?

During an initial intake, we will discuss the current dynamics within your organization and determine which approach is most appropriate.

Wifi you first require greater insight into stress factors and potential risks, a Stress Scan can be an excellent first step.

FAQ

Measuring and interpreting, tailored interventions, and embedding through rhythm and evaluation.

Stress Scan is suitable for baseline and direction. Sprint is appropriate when pressure and absenteeism risks rise. Brain Wellness is relevant for measurably embedding leadership. Change Support is appropriate for change-related strain.

Safeguarding is a set of agreements, rhythm, and ownership with short review moments. This prevents relapse.

We measure and interpret stress drivers and effects using appropriate tools and evaluations. Where relevant, we use repeated measurements to make adjustments and ensure sustainability.

Both, but always with safeguarding. Training without changes in agreements and rhythm often leads to relapse. We focus on what continues to work.

If you want a quick baseline and direction: start with the Stress Scan. If you want to determine the scope and route first: schedule an intake.
